Accessibility Improvements completed at State Facilities

The ADA Statewide Facilities Improvement Program recently completed accessibility upgrades at Armstrong State University, Georgia Southwestern University, Macon State College, and Savannah State University, as well as Veterans Hospitals at Augusta and Milledgeville. The total cost for the projects was $490,000. These renovations included: the addition of accessible entrances and automatic doors, enhancements to primary function areas, restroom alterations, curb cuts, ramps, pathway renovation, door modification, and other accessibility elements and features to meet the letter and spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

“These much needed improvement projects greatly enhance disability access to our campuses and veterans hospitals, and we are most appreciative to our agency partners for seeing them through to completion” said Tim Bromley, Senior State ADA Architect.
