Cheryl Frazier named Assistant State ADA Coordinator
Cheryl Ann Frazier serves as the Assistant State ADA Coordinator for the Georgia State ADA Coordinator’s Office, serving as the contact for State agency ADA coordinators for assistance with training, technical assistance, and the resolution of complaints and grievances regarding access to programs, services, practices, and employment.
Frazier has over twenty-seven (27) years of service with the State of Georgia. Prior to becoming the Assistant State ADA Coordinator, she served as the first agency ADA Coordinator for the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC), the 4th largest agency of its kind in the United States. She was responsible for the oversight and coordination of GDC’s efforts to comply with ADA requirements, and implemented the ADA Title II Provisions policy, the comprehensive agency’s ADA training plan, and the ADA Communications Center for clients, contractors, staff members, and citizens. Frazier has trained over 14,000 individuals regarding ADA to include GDC staff members and contractors, medical and mental health professionals, and staff members of the State Board of Pardons and Paroles. She is a certified compliance auditor with the National Institute of Corrections and a certified instructor with the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council. She is a member of the American Correctional Association.
Frazier earned her bachelor’s degree in Criminology from the University of West Georgia and her master’s degree in Public Administration from Columbus State University. Frazier is a Certified Public Manager® through the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
