Governor Deal has announced that Georgia will participate in National Preparedness Month

As the Nation approaches the tenth anniversary of September 11th GEMA has joined with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in support of this year’s campaign “A Time to Remember. A Time to Prepare.” The governor encourages every Georgian to be ready and prepare an emergency supply kit with at least 72 hours’ worth of critical supplies and keep these on hand at all times.

There are a number of activities this month throughout the state where you can gather some valuable information to help keep you and your loved ones safe. All Georgia citizens are encourage to read the Governor’s proclamation and to visit the website www.ready.ga.gov. At www.ready.ga.gov citizens can create a Ready profile that will give them a plan tailored to their entire family.
